4 Must Have Apps For A Successful Blog

Are you new to blogging? Looking for some must have apps to make your blogging experience easier and more successful?

Smartphones have changed the way we do an endless amount of every day activities. They’ve improved how we spend our time (well, sort of. Unless you spend 12 hours playing Candy Crush or Pokemon Go….like I used to). They’ve also improved how we communicate with the people we love, near and far, and in the more recent years, they’ve helped to change and expand the possibilities of making money online. Whether you own an iPhone or an Android, the App options are endless, and choosing the right one can have a huge amount of benefits.

Blogging has taken off over the past few years. When I became part of the blogging community, I wasn’t aware how many people from all around the world, were trying to make it big! It’s overwhelming and can be a bit un-motivating and daunting at times – if you let it.

If you’re a blogger – no matter what your niche is – who spends a significant amount of time focussing on social media and growing your following via the main money-making platforms, there are some essential apps that you should be downloading right now, if you haven’t already.

I’m here to tell you about them! I’m pretty helpful like that 😉

Google Analytics

This is one of the first things you should sign up for when starting a new blog. Google Analytics is the greatest asset a blogger can have. It gives you an endless amount of information about the people who are visiting your blog. There are tons of reports, with loads of different types of data, which are created to help you improve your blog and the content you post. How cool is that?!
Some of the best and most useful reports are:

  • Page Views – This is probably the easiest way to tell how quickly your blog is growing. Obviously, the more page views you have, the more traffic your blog is getting, which is what we all want. Right?!
  • Social Network – This is a cool feature. If you’re a frequent Social Media user (which I highly recommend you become, if you want a significant increase in traffic!), this report helps to get a gauge of where your traffic is coming from.
Top Tip: Pinterest is one of the best platforms to grow your blog traffic and email list. 42% of the traffic I get on my blog, comes from my Pinterest account. If you aren’t already, make sure you head over to Pinterest and sign up! You can also follow my Pinterest account by clicking here!
  • Landing Pages – This report lets you know what pages people are clicking on first. So if you post a link to a specific blog post on your social media accounts, and potential readers click on that link, you know you’re doing something right! The more views a specific post has, the more popular that topic is, and you’ll know what to focus on in the future!

Postcron – Social Media scheduler

There are tons of social media schedulers out there. Some are free (you are however, limited to connecting a certain amount of accounts) and some cost money from the get go. I personally use Postcron. It’s been helpful for scheduling my Facebook and Twitter posts, allowing me to post my blog link multiple times per day, therefore increasing my page views! If you work full time or part time, I highly suggest signing up for Postcron. You’ll be able to relax knowing you don’t have to constantly remember to post on your ever-so-important social media accounts, and you’ll have traffic flowing to your blog without having to do anything! After all, that’s the dream, isn’t it?

Evernote

This is a must have app for the highly organised bunch. I honestly don’t know what I did before I had Evernote in my life. It’s great for creating lists in all areas of your life. It’s especially handy being a blogger, and having the option to create different categories and ‘notebooks’ to organise your life even further.
Here are some suggested notebook ideas to make your blogging experience more convenient and productive:

  • Future blog post ideas
  • Blog + social media to-do list
  • Guest post articles to write
  • Companies to contact regarding sponsorships
  • Bucket List
  • + so much more!

Really, you’re only limited by your imagination and how organised and productive you want to be!

Canva

This is one of my favourite programs – both on computer and my iPhone 6. It’s basically the Photoshop for people who can’t use Photoshop. The free version includes extremely easy to design templates and tons of free stock photos, allowing you to create beautiful and professional graphics! I promise, once you give it a go, you’ll be highly addicted and won’t be able to stop designing!
There’s also a Canva For Work option, where you pay a few dollars a month to have access to even more templates and photos, opening up your creativity vault even further!
