Incase you’ve been living under a rock, there are seven different Disney Resorts in the world. Anaheim Disneyland Resort, Orlando Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Shanghai Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disney Resort, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Whether you’ve only been to one or all seven of them, chances are you would have had one of the best days of your life. Why? Well, because Disneyland is the Happiest Place in the World! Before my visit to Japan, I had only visited the Anaheim Disney Parks (Disneyland and California Adventure Park). Sure, I’ve been there at least a dozen times, but I hadn’t broadened my Disney horizons beyond California. The Tokyo Disneyland Parks are something that I am going to find difficult to explain.…

When Russell and I were researching our trip to Japan, trying to figure out the train and transport aspect was our main priority. Considering we would land in Japan at around 6am, then have to catch public transport from Haneda airport to our hotel in Yokohama (around 40 minutes south of Tokyo), we wanted to be fairly sure about what to expect. We did plenty of Googling, found the bus we needed to catch to Yokohama Station and knew we needed to then catch a train to our hotel. But we still weren’t prepared for how insanely busy the station was going to be! Nothing could have prepared us for that. Especially arriving during peak hour! There are people everywhere,…

If you’ve been following my blog or social media accounts (Instagram in particular), for quite a while now, you would know how much of a huge Harry Potter nerd I am. Russell and I named our cat after Hermione. Do I need to say more? If there was a real life Hogwarts – even one for Muggles! – I’d move in tomorrow. But since there isn’t a real life Hogwarts, and I have mo magical powers, us muggles have to stick with visiting the many theme parks around the world, dedicated to the wonderful world of Harry Potter. When Russell and I were planning our trip to Japan, Osaka was at the top of our list. For me at least,…

On Monday, Russell and I took three trains from our hotel in Osaka, to the small Kyoto town of Arashiyama. When we started researching Japan in the middle of last year, we discovered the Arashiyama Monkey Park. This was our main intention in visiting this town, however due to it being pretty difficult to find, we didn’t end up making it there. That was okay, though. Because while wandering around the town, we discovered that there was a lot to do in this small country Japanese town! Once we got off the train, we wandered up a hill and came across a beautiful view of the town. I also had my first cherry blossom tree sighting! There are a few cool…

Visiting Arashiyama, Kyoto! Russell (my partner, if you’re new here) and I have now been in Japan for six days, and up until today, we’ve spent a large portion of our time exploring the big cities with huge buildings, flashing neon lights and overwhelming crowds of people. So spending today in the historic and beautiful town of Arashiyama, Kyoto was a welcoming change of pace. Currently, we are staying in the city of Osaka. Our hotel is around a half an hour walk from the crazy shopping streets of Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi. If you’ve never been to Japan before, it’s hard to explain just how intense and overwhelming Dotonbori is. Especially in the late afternoon and early evening. By seven o’clock at night, you can barely…
