When Russell and I were researching and planning our month long trip to Japan, we knew we wanted to fit in as much as we could in those four weeks. Japan may be a fairly small island country, but there is a ton to do and see. It would take an entire lifetime to explore Tokyo alone. We wanted to hit as many cities as we could, cross off as much as possible, and have the time of our lives while we were at it. I’m happy to report that all three of those goals were achieved! We managed to travel to 6 cities over a four week period. Those cities were: Yokohama, Osaka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Nagano and Tokyo. We didn’t want…

If you’re new to Rhiannon Travels, I’ve published two previous posts in my ‘Things to know about Japan’ series so far: Things You Need to Know about Japan – Part 1: Transport + Navigation Things You Need to Know about Japan – Part 2: Food in Japan + Shopping Bargains Whether you’ve read one (or both! ♥️) of those posts already, you’ll know that I included a LOT of super helpful tips and information on transport, navigation, shopping and food around Japan. Considering everything I want to say about Japan in general couldn’t fit into those two posts, I decided to write my own Ultimate Guide to Japan. It’s no secret – Tokyo is a very big city. Not only is it Japan’s capital, it’s also the most populated city in the world. So if you only have a few days to explore Tokyo, it can seem overwhelming. It would literally take a lifetime to explore every inch of Japan’s capital city, so don’t give yourself any unrealistic expectations. Unfortunately, you won’t see it all. While browsing Expedia, we came across Shinjuku New City Hotel. After looking into the hotel and reading reviews, we ended up booking a non smoking semi-double room for all 12 nights of our stay. Since Tokyo was last on our itinerary, and we had been pleasantly surprised by our previous hotel rooms (more on those in another post!), we weren’t expecting too much…

Osaka was the second stop on our month long trip to Japan this past March. There were many things that drew us to the city of Osaka. One of my main reasons for visiting Osaka, was The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Which certainly didn’t disappoint! We spent 7 days in Osaka, and there were quite a few things on our list of things to do and see in the city! It was a very busy week, but I’m super glad we decided to set aside a whole week to explore Osaka. If you are planning a trip to Japan, and Osaka is on your wish list, here is my suggested itinerary for a 6 day visit! Rhiannon’s 6 day…
